The blood that flows in my veins is cursed.

The Crowhurst name is familiar to some, generally feared among those who know them, but Theo has broken the mould by rejecting the call to action by going into police work and then into working for the Exchange. Theo has never spent a moment ignorant of the supernatural. His name carries a legacy of centuries of monster hunters, the weight of the knowledge a whole family can gather in that time crammed into his head as a child. And Theo diligently learnt all the ways the supernatural existed and could be fought.

His journey through the London Met and the Boston Police Department has given him a knack for reading people, having been a detective before becoming an agent with the Exchange. He's put it to good use in his more than ten years as an Agent. He's a familiar face to the supernatural community and definitely familiar to any repeat offenders, although there are very few of them by design. To those who have nothing to fear from the Exchange, Theo is the serious but polite agent who occasionally checks in with the community.

As the Inquisitor, he is relatively recent to the role. He took the role in 2020, appointed before the death of his predecessor. That is how Inquisitors pass on the mantle; retirement isn't much of an option.

Friends
Theo is often gruff enough that people find it difficult to befriend him, but he is a simple man in reality. His friendship will be marked by friendly insults, grumpy grousing, and a straightforward approach to conversation. It takes time to get there, but Theo does not discard friends lightly.

Enemies
Probably a few. Being an Exchange agent and then Inquisitor carries an inherent risk of stepping on toes. Considering how the Exchange responds to those who break their rules, it hasn't gotten out of hand. There's no ruling out that there might be plenty who don't like how Theo operates.

Lovers
The loss of his late wife makes dating and relationships rather difficult for Theo, especially considering he's the one who staked her and buried her with the appropriate measures to prevent a vampire from rising again. A fling isn't unheard of, but Theo is guarded enough not to entertain unfamiliar women and tends to desire something of a developing friendship before intimacy is involved.
