He's made a career as a military man for most of his life, but now he's a civilian flight instructor, putting his century of knowledge at work, teaching others and giving flying tours. His manner can come across as a sort of old fashioned gentleman, constantly smoking, a little archaic at times, with war stories that often come across as temporally misplaced.
As a rule, Algy's friendly. He welcomes even the oddest of folk into his fold if they're looking for a place to lay down roots, so long as they appeal to a dragon's sense of honour. He's interested in helping people, giving them what he can if he can. All this means is that he's an easy man to befriend, even if he is discerning. He's too old to be naive but too old to quantify all the different mores and social rules he's known for all his life. So long as you aren't harming anyone, Algy can let it stand.

Algy's first and only love is his late wife, a talented archaeologist killed during the Axis invasion of Egypt. He's taken lovers since, but none have matched her. He's picky, enjoys being challenged on an intellectual level, and tends to become covetous when involved with someone. This fades when they inevitably split.
