As Mayor, Gaius is a busy man who needs loyal aides. At two millennia of existence and smart investing, he has the wealth to support himself and on-site staff or hire personal assistants aplenty. Still, the core of an Undying as busy as Gaius is having loyal followers. Those pesky thresholds, you know.
- Ideally, the characters would know about Gaius being one of the undying, but not specifics. I am open to someone wanting a character having no clue, though!
- Everyone would be sworn to secrecy, either through oaths or simply by having such a long-standing relationship that Gaius would trust them sans magical oaths (as they don't bind humans).
- Depending on how the discussion goes for anyone interested, these aides could potentially be a regular source of sustenance for Gaius, as he primarily feeds on blood.
- Gaius is arrogant but pragmatic, with his best interests in mind. Sometimes his best interests mean keeping the people around him comfortable.
- He isn't prone to anger, but impoliteness is enough to offend him.
- He expects the best from the people around him. The first few times someone missteps, he's more prone to a calm correction and friendly ribbing rather than harsh words.
- Gaius has no preference for type of individual, as any being can serve as a source of sustenance for him.
- He's lived long enough to be mostly free of prejudices that would prevent him from working effectively with someone.
