Markus couldn't help but feel somewhat grilled as they talked, but he didn't detect any hostile intentions. Again, Markus recalled what he knew of the Emily his sister wrote about. There wasn't much to go on other than that she and his sister had a falling out. If this was the same Emily, he wondered if she had drawn some of her conclusions based on that.
