Early Winter

The atmosphere is festive at this time of year, but there's always the shadow of something a little eerie in the winter months.

Mysticism and exaggeration go together

Max had experienced magical emotion manipulation before, but never for positive emotions, so it was easy to let it happen and not brace against the effect. This was not manufactured rage pushed onto his mind, but rather joy transposed from his own memory onto the moment, if he understood the magic correctly. Even so, as he resisted chuckling in reflex to the emotion, he wondered at how addicting such an item might be for someone who'd lost loved ones. Replaying emotions and memories endlessly, a new form of drug. But maybe it'd serve as a boost to the day and wouldn't wear them down in the same way a chemical addiction would.

Caught in the feeling and his own musings around the enchanted item itself, Max almost didn't catch Serafina's next words. But as he looked at her, brows furrowing as he tried to puzzle through what she meant, his musings faded in the face of the joy still rolling in from the ring. Then, her words clicked, and he gave her a curious look.

“You can... see it?” He asked, careful but curious, his ill-suited phrasing based on a lack of any other fitting words. Max tried to think back, remember if anyone else had mentioned magic bypassing blindness. But maybe she was referring to an aural element? But Max couldn't hear it, if so.
